Hotel History

The Golden Buff Timeline
1956

Originally built as the Wayside Inn in 1956, the property was purchased two years later by Rose and B.D. Boeve and renamed the Golden Buff Lodge.
They soon petitioned Best Western and became the fourth hotel in the Rocky Mountain district accepted in to the Best Western family. Though the property passed into the capable hands of their two sons in the late seventies, B.D. and Rose took an active and defining interest in the hotel throughout the entire course of their lives.

Soon the many transformations of the Golden Buff began. A new sign was up quickly after its purchase, followed shortly by a swimming pool and seventeen new rooms added to the
original eighteen.

The seventies saw big changes as the popular location had to undergo further expansion. Forty more rooms, our ever popular restaurant and a conference facility were all added over the course of the decade.

Today the property boasts 112 comfortable rooms in a location that has remained ideal for the city's inhabitants and its visitors. The Golden Buff has grown right along with the beautiful city of Boulder and will always strive to hold the trust of the people that have allowed it to thrive.
